Lessons I am learning:
-that I may see the many blessings I have and not focus on only the shortcomings
-that I may take advantage of these blessings and use them to bless others
-that I may live by only God's standards, and not the world's (success and achievement). His are higher, but His perfect Son already paid the price for us to have His grace and to merit his unconditional love.
-that God loves me more than I can understand.
-that singleness is a gift.
-that friends are a blessing.

what a dreary day. i just got off the phone with auntie __, whose daughter is interviewing for medical schools now (this is the one who has a 4.0 gpa and whose brother is also in medical school). why do we have the tendency to always compare ourselves to others in terms of our social status, academic and financial success? Why does it always make me feel like such a failure? it's an asian american thing, isn't it? how depressing. the fact that we had it all growing up just leads to us necessarily having high expectations of what became of us. boy. i need to stop wallowing in my sorrows. this cannot be healthy. kgaw has become my unread corner of the universe... no one will see me...
